Vincent Fournier
Flora Incognita
Momentum Gallery Miami is pleased to announce its participation in ZONA MACO Art Fair 2026, presenting Flora Incognita by French artist Vincent Fournier. The exhibition features a focused selection of photographic works from one of Fournier’s most acclaimed series, exploring the evolving relationship between nature, scientific inquiry, and speculative futures.
In Flora Incognita, Fournier examines plant life through a lens that merges documentary rigor with constructed imagery. Drawing on the visual language of scientific archives and natural history collections, the works depict botanical forms as singular, enigmatic specimens. Isolated and precisely rendered, these images suspend the viewer between recognition and fiction, nature and invention.
The series reflects Fournier’s broader practice, which investigates how contemporary societies imagine, classify, and transform the living world. Flora Incognita proposes a subtle meditation on ecological fragility and human intervention, suggesting a future in which preservation, design, and imagination converge. Works from the series are now held in the permanent collection of Saint Laurent, underscoring its significance within contemporary visual culture.
Momentum Gallery Miami’s presentation at ZONA MACO 2026 affirms the gallery’s commitment to artists whose practices engage critically with global concerns through a rigorous and visually compelling photographic language.
