Momentum Fine Art is proud to exhibit the work of California based artist Daniel Grant.
Daniel’s work is a direct reflection on his life experiences, in the photographic series My Affair with Diana, Grant captures compelling voyeuristic vignettes of the female form and the symbolic embodiment of the feminine as muse using his ‘Diana’ toy cameras. The bodies he photographs morph from shadowed to brilliant, hard-edged to soft, as the arbitrary focus and pinhole vignettes characteristic of the camera lend at one moment a dramatic chiaroscuro and at another a dreamlike pictorialism. Equating the Diana with a lover, the series title hints at the shifting landscape of intimacy and implies that the greatest love affairs are those between artists and their work.
Daniel exhibits regularly and has received numerous awards from many prestigious organizations, which include the Dorothy Lange & Paul Taylor Prize, the Black and White Spider Awards, the Pollux Awards (Berlin), and the Grand Prix de La Decouverte (Paris). His work has been featured in numerous magazines including Blur magazine, Shots magazine, and online at Lenscratch, and Dodho Magazine, to name a few.He continues to travel and photograph around the world with Holga and Diana
